"I'm being grotesque but you've got to be. You see what I mean? You've got to be crazy. It's too late to be sane. Too late. You got to go full tilt bozo. Cause, you're only given one spark of madness...and if you lose that...you're nothing. "- Robin Willliams
Robin Williams was an actor I grew up watching, I'm sure like many of you did. Course...most of the movies I watched where the children's movies like Aladdin, Jumanji, Hook, and Mrs. Doubtfire. It wasn't until much later that I watched his more Dramatic movies like Patch Adams, Dead Poets Society, and so on which were still great to me. He was one of my favorite actors growing up and I can remember copying his lines, trying to catch some of his style and his imitations, especially from Aladdin. Some of that still happens today actually. He is a joy to watch especially when he's giving a live performance on stage. I've never laughed so hard till I saw his HBO special "Live on Broadway". He made an impact on my life because of his sense of humor and drama and I loved it. He seemed like a genuine kind hearted soul outside of his movies and I wished that I could have meet this man in person before he passed and I knew that it would be a rare opportunity in the long run. When I was told of his passing...I honestly didn't believe it at first. I thought someone might have seen one of those stupid Facebook hoaxes but...after talking with people...it was turning into a reality. I couldn't believe it and I still don't but...there it is. He was a brilliant, talented, and kind man and it's sad to see him go. You will be missed by many Robin and I want to thank you for letting us enjoy your time, your energy, and your laughter with us all.
It's been a long time...looong long time since I ever tried to do something like this. Copying from a photo that is. I used to do that a lot when I first started drawing in Elementary school. Once I started learning the "Pipe and Ball" structure, I stopped drawing that way and just worked on form and proportions, which I admit I still need some work on it. This picture was the first time I drew Freehand and I am so happy that it turned out so well. I want to apologize if the quality is a little murky though. It's much better in person like some artwork really is.
